Strange(r) Hobbies

I've used the Ian knot for a long time now. I can literally tie my shoes in the blink of an eye.

wow shoelace tips can be replaced, what an advancement.

looking into the Ian knot now. "The finished "Ian Knot" is identical to either the Standard Shoelace Knot or the Two Loop Shoelace Knot. Because it was tied much more quickly and symmetrically, the laces suffer less wear and tear and thus last longer."

this is really the key motivation for me, i am so rough on my shoelaces from poor knotting technique they break almost every two years.

i've collected nearly 90% of my transit passes, tickets, stubs, etc. since i started commuting via transit regularly since 1999

i only buy monthly passes now, but still keep them.

Sorry to be a thread necro, but I am just posting to report that I did indeed just now retie my shoes with Ian's Secure Knot.
