Sennheiser HD650 can scale up pretty well with better source and amplifier, I suspect HD600 is in the same league.  I'm tempted to sell my Hifiman HE-5LE and get HD600.

Disclaimer: I haven't heard the SRS-2050II.

The HD600 has phenomenal tone. If tone is a priority for you, it makes a great headphone that you will keep for a long time. If you value other things more (visceral bass, treble extension, microdetail, speed), then the HD600 isn't for you. Particularly, if you're after detail and speed, Stax is the way to go.

Yeah... you'll probably like the sound of the "new version" Senns better than the Stax / Koss sound... if... you prefer a rich, bold sound to a somewhat cool, refined sound.

After trying the Stax... I found I prefer the sound of the "new version" HD580/600/650's, the AD2000's, and the RS-1's to the Stax... though... the SR-507's are close (the O2's just require far too costly amps to rival these dynamics).

And... there really is no contest... when you consider the relatively low cost of a Senn setup.

Thank you everyone.

I have also read that the Stax don't have much bass. I need a normal amount of bass.

Mine's been sitting unused for years... interested? (Note - that's not an indication of the sound you get from them)

What's normal? There's bass, and for some Stax, a lot of it.

What did you not like about your Stax system? How much would you want for it?

I am in the United States.

Nevermind.

Most of the reviews that I have read stated that the HD600s bass was much better than an electrostatic headphone.

I believe that bass impact is definitely important to me.
