Hello again to everyone

I'm happy to hear that the SR LAMBDA PRO CLASSICS earphone atleast is a good. I can allways find a new amp for the earphones in the future

Hearing that the SR LAMBDA PRO CLASSICS is a little bit laid back in the higher frequencies is just a bonus for me. I realy do not like resolution boost accomplished by raising the output of high frequencies.

You can use the phones with just about every amp or adapter Stax ever made as well as other electrostatic amps so that isn't a problem.

The Pro Classic lacks a bit of sparkle but every Lambda has a slight treble coloration that can be annoying once you know it's there. It's only really noticeable in direct comparisons. All Stax headphones have tremendous amounts of detail and it isn't just in the top end like most dynamics.

I'm always interested also on the technical side of hifi. So i'm curious is this coloration product of distortion, resonance or something completely different?

Could you also give me an example how this affect on certain instruments and voices?

Again many thanks you have been great help

It is the housing resonating. The effect will vary from one model of the Lambdas to the next because the thickness of the mylar is one part of the puzzle. Voices sound a bit compressed and instruments have a slight "tzing" sound to them but if you teflon insulated wires anywhere in the system this will be masked in their time smear.

Hehe, I was bidding on those too, but the ending price was too high for me... 291 euros ( ~$390). That's almost the price of the new 2050 system from PriceJapan.com.
