I just picked up an SRM-T1 and it sounds good, other than the balance changes with the potentiometer setting. As an example, if a solo vocalist is centered with the knob at the 12 o'clock setting, the image shifts to the right as I lower the volume and to the left as I raise it.

I'm planning on replacing the caps at a minimum, but am wondering what to do about the imbalance. New pot? Are there even replacement pots available for this unit?

The channel imbalance on most stax amps (quite sure also on the T1) can be adjusted on the volume knob. The volume know is divided in 2 parts (front of the knob and the part behind it) which can be moved against each other to adjust the channel imbalance.
Many people seem to not know since it's not very obvious

Yeah, I just hate having to change the balance every time I change the volume... Luckily, I'm using the T1 as my desktop amp (replaced an SRM-252S), so the knob is within arm's reach.
