I'm pretty sure the Benchmark is this though :The ceiling (so far) is X9000 + T2 + Linn NextGen Klimax Organik.
Recently heard the x9000 at an audio show with the t8000. I compared it with the 007mk2 and with the t8000 I preferred the 007. The x9000 has wayyy more stage and more open feel, but the 007 has a much closer and punchier presentation. That being said I have 3 reasons why I believe the x9000 didn’t blow me away and why I preferred the 007mk2
1. The x9000 was at an audio show and the x9000 was super open making it less obvious to hear all the details
2. The t8000 may be the issue as someone else at the show tried it on a tube amp from LTA and said it was much much better and bested his Susvara so that’s important to note
3. The x9000 cups are monsters I have never seen anything so big, I don’t know if I got the fit just right with my limited amount of time
I should also note I own a 007mk1
I was shocked how close Nimbus is sonically to Riviera. I think it is the second best solid state amp for Susvara while in my humble opinion, the best is Mytek Empire but at more than four times of the price though.I believe he never heared the Susvara with Niimbus
also agree with @orcawithabat 's description and it is easy to see more people prefering 007's signature.
still for me, the 007 is lame, bad, I just plug it every other month to double check there is no dust/mold near them since it is up for sale in my country. Then, I try to enjoy some EDM / pop for a few minutes and that's it; it doesnt sound hi-fi, it doesnt sound right, be it timbre, stage, etc. It sounds off for jazz/classical and even most rock music I listen. Even with a carbon amp, which did improve it some good chunk.
small caveat, I own 007A, not mkII, and have no idea if it is a 2.5, 2.9, or whatever equivalent.. would love to do the port mod but there's no bluetak around , maybe will import it at some point if can't get to sell it first
I should also note I listened at the 007mkI with blue hawaii at a friend's and it was deftly better than mkII, not a sublte difference, but still not so much to my liking.
For the music I listen the most and to my ears, there is no such comparisson as X9 vs 007, not same league. Maybe with @padam 's 0079
Maybe one day if I have the x9000 at home I’ll have a different impression of them. One thing I can say though is that they are beautifulJust for ultra clarity on my end and earlier post, I don't think more people prefer the 007.. rather that some do. Nearly everyone I've talked to about them has been overwhelmingly impressed with them, including the person I just sold my backup pair to. And you don't see them come up for sale, at all. Part of that is obviously the supply issues, but other manufacturers have dealt with the same issues (although not to the same degree) and yet you see their models offered up for sale frequently and sitting for long periods. Satisfaction definitely plays a major part in that as well.

It looks so elegant wayyyyyy better looking than the original Omega which really looks like an underdeveloped prototypeVisually and physically I have to say the srx9k is one of the best builds ever. Absolutely stellar design.
