That's a very cool looking mod. Is this your own design, or is there a community out there that follows this kind of mod? never seen one before..

what did you do to get there? and what was the result?

very interesting

I have written about the result, I might add - I had hopes for SR-70252 headphones belonged to the gold series, the copies with numbers 70001 ... 71500 used the remnants of the film which was used for the Omega membranes.
I listened to 70252, 009 and mod 008 for several weeks, I ended up keeping the mod 008, I liked their sound better, and the scene is wider than the contenders. Satisfied until the 009S came along.

The new detachable cables are a joy to use. Love how they supply a really long one for free.

as you can easily guess I'm literally immersed in my listening, the 9000 never ceases to amaze me; I know that I still have concrete margins for improvement on the entire chain but for now that's okay, one step at a time
Dac:topping d90se
Amp:Stax 700s
Initially i connected the dac and amp with the stock rca cables, and compared to the sound i heard from my dealer i noticed a considerable layer of patina, there was something that definitely dirty the signal..i changed the cable, from stock rca to xlr (cost around 50 euros) and the sound is decidedly cleaner.
I don't believe in the crazy expense of cables but I truly believe that the cable makes the difference.
now I ask..do you have any serious xlr cable to recommend?budget around 400.00 €

I'm thinking about a possible amp upgrade for my x9000, my favorites are the Megatron, and the two Eksonic setups, Aeras and T2.
Could someone make a scale of these three amps, just for x9000 of course?
First you'd need to find someone on earth who has listened extensively to all three. I'm not sure that person exists, though, even among builders. Surely the number is less than ten.

Otherwise it's just speculation.

I can only say that I chose a Megatron from those three and a few others, without hearing most of them in advance, and for a number of subjective reasons I don't regret the MT decision.

One question rolling around in my head is whether the Areas "mini T2" is at all similar to any other Kevin Gilmore amps, or whether it's an entirely new design by Kerry. Seems like a valid question to ask. But that might be a secret of the trade.

There is an extensive comparison of the aeras vs bhse and the finding is that they are similar. This makes sense because the bhse is based off T2.

Really? Would you mind providing a link? I ask because I thought BHSE was based on KGGG, and that Areas was based on KGST.

I'm obviously no expert, and I haven't heard any of them; whatever I understand is just based on anecdotes from other owners.
