Hi folks,
Last time I was on here for a while, I decided to buy some ATH M-50's. They've made me very happy, and showed me just how much I was missing in the world of audio. So, now I'm getting a nagging itch in the back of my head - wondering what a slightly larger investment would net me in terms of quality.
Looking around on the forums recently, the Denon D2000 and D5000 caught my eye as possible upgrade candidates. I don't currently have a dac/amp setup, running my audio directly from the back of my desktop right now for the most part, but if I were to get one of those two, I would probably invest in some soon after. If I were to get the D5000's, I'd probably buy them refurbished from Dakmart for $390 (please tell me if this is a terrible idea, someone on the forum mentioned them and to me it looks fine), and if I were to get the D2000's, well, somebody has a lightly used pair for sale right here
Although I plan on using them primarily for music listening, does anyone know how these headphones fare for gaming?
Which do you guys think is the smarter investment right now? I've got about $500 to spend, but I want to be sure that I'm spending it in the right place because that's a significant investment for me.
