Anyone here have any recommendations on a good recording of this classical religious piece? I am looking for something with a killer counter-tenor voice.

Anyone?

Are you talking about the Pergolesi setting? There are a couple of good recordings that I'm aware of, one with James Bowman and Emma Kirkby the soloists with Christopher Hogwood conducting the Academy of Ancient Music. This is a period instrument recording, good if you like that sort of thing. Another recording with Andreas Scholl is quite nice too, on Decca. Both should be available on Amazon.

I just saw a SACD that had two different pieces called "Stabat Mater" by two different composers on it. Of which one do you speak?
