Despite I have posted a similar thread in the computer audio forum, I dicide to ask again here as it seems like more head-fiers response here.
I am looking for a DAC/amp combo for my HE-500. My maximum spending can go up to $850 (though it is still low to many). I am not a huge fan of tube, so I wish to have something solid-state (or maybe hybrid).
There are quite a number of options out there discussed by other head-fiers.
Say,
- Biforst + Asgard/Lyr
- ODAC + O2 etc.
Actually I like the sound of violectric. And I heard that HE-500 match pretty well with V181 in balanced mode.
However, I cannot afford the V800 as DAC and I am afraid that the USB 24/96 module provided as an option by Violectric will drag down the performance.
As per music preference, I mainly listen to Jazz, instrument and vocals.
In fact, I have one more requirement. That is, I prefer the combo to be able to stack up each other.
I shall be pleased if someone can give me some direction.
Thanks
