i've had the SR60 for a lil over a week now... it sounds pretty good, and despite what people have said, i find them pretty comfortable (i bought it used though). compared to my HD202, it's much more.. i guess you could say "bright" or "sharp." i find it a little weak on the bass, but that's fine with me... the cans are quite aggressive!
I would go for the SR-60's over the 80's anyday. The cost to performance boost is probably the smallest in the Grado line. The SR60's are almost universally renowned as being the best bang for the buck phone in the world under $100.
If you like them think about upgrading to some 225's or Allesandro's.
Although, the SR60s can sound a little thin in the bass region they are very accurate. I auditioned the SR80's against some Senn HD500's. While the Senns had a more visceral base punch (a little too visceral maybe as they moved a lot of air) it just sort of came out as a thump. While with the 80's I could hear the skin of the drum snap like I was in the same room the HD500's sounded like that same drum coming out a PA with the levels not quite right.
