sr225 or rs1 at half price.?! please advice

A 700$ headphone for 350$ - Anyday! I love my SR 225's and just know I'll go RS-1 someday.
If you smell a fish however, don't stop investigating till the fishy smell subsides

i will check it today at the store. and i would tell you that...i will take a good close look at those rs-1! but i need to know (just in case i will not able to listen to them in the store) if the rs-1 still has the right sound sig for metal ?
is it like the sr225 and sr325i only better and more refined?

Have tried 325i's, thought a bit brash, like you said RS-1 are more refined. No problems metal on RS-1, in fact it's good not harsh since most metal is trebly.

Now even I, a real Grado sceptic having tried - and not being impressed with everything from the SR60-325i, am tempted to investigate a pair of RS-1's.

RS1's are something special imo, really best grado with the grado sound out there.

No way the best. The GS1000's are better, I prefer the RS2's to the RS1's as well being aware that some aspects say the RS1's win. But some other - important to me - make the RS2's my choice of "small" Grado's.

You need to read my sentences more clearly before you comment, I said:

The GS1000 don't have that 'grado' sound to me, they are fantastic, but they are not the sound the company is built on! And about the RS2 you have stated that alot, and you are one of the only ones that would prefer the RS2 to the RS1, its considered by alot the weak link in the grado line. Why not put that little extra money and get the real thing

. I tested the RS2 also, but side by side with the RS1 there is nothing they do better. All imho offcourse

Yes, it's like the SR225, only more refined. Unless there's something really wrong with them you can always put them up in the FS forum if you don't think they are worth $350.
