I keep reading that SR 80 benefit from the use of an amp, however I don't have an amp as of now, and it will be some time before I get one. So I come to you in search of an answer: do I get the 80s despite not having an amp, or the 60s?

Get the SR80's even if you don't have an amp. They're easy to drive and will only get better when you finally get one. Yet at the same time, they'll sound fantastic without an amp.

That's with my experience with SR60's. It sounds better with an amp, but still sounds great without one.

If new thats one heck of a deal, If used maybe a little high. Used I would think $80 CDN is fair.
