hi guys,
i just got my hands on some second hand sr-60s today which i want to use with my mp3 player. the sr-60s have been recabled with Canare Starquad and terminated with a Neutrik 1/8 jack. They have an inline 100 ohm resistor which the seller told me so i dont know if this is stock or have been added as a modd.

the problem im having is the volume levels im getting from these, the volume is well lower then any of my other cans which include the rs-1, gs1000's and igrado's. i tried the sr-60's straight from the mp3 player and from amp but same story, it feels like the amp does not have enough power to run them.

does anyone know why the volume level is like this or how it could be sorted?

the resistor. you either need to remove it, recable without it, or get an amp.

The resistor is probably in the 1/8" jack. It shouldn't affect sound quality very much if at all.

it will require you to run a amp to get more out of them thats for sure.
