I've hardly gotten any spam today. Any chance the viagra merchants, cheating housewives, and Nigerians with business propositions are taking time off for Christmas?

Doubtful...

I'd imagine that they're storing up all that quality reading material for Saturday for after you've had your lunch, and feel like catching up with things...

I really do need a spam filter again, I did have SpamFighter, until it made Outlook go wrong... hmm...

Spam in my case never sleeps, got 4 of them today. One of them was viagra related and the other three was some other junk I didn't bother reading the subject title, just deleted all of them.

My Hotmail is half spam, half crap forwards I don't read anyway.

Only spam my Gmail gets (and that all gets caught anyway) is ads for warez on CD. 'Twas a new one to me, spam-wise.

WOW, I only get about 4 spams a month. Those are only for some kind of prescription drug discount. I'm not sure if that is what is in the emails, since I never open them.

Seems like the Chinese are learning the Nigerian scam trade. Regalis, Cialis, Viagra, etc. Your wife needs a 12" man.

Bottom feeders... spammers are ALMOST below lawyers in the evolutionary scale

Yes, I know some of you are lawyers out there

I've been using the same email address for many years now. Two or three years ago I started getting a few spams a day. Then it steadily grew to the 130 / day level half a year ago! That was the time for me to decide whether to stop using email, change my address or get some working filter. I ended up using the Mailwasher. With some blacklists, custom made filters (incl. foreign characters as I've been heavily bombarded by Korean spammers) etc. it was reduced to a few a day. And what's best - most of the spam was deleted at the POP server and never entered my PC. Then a month or two ago my ISP started filtering spam and since that I've been getting only a few a day most of which Mailwasher washes for me.

As an answer to the topic's question, I've noticed earlier that during certain times like Christmas the spam is really reduced but who knows if it's due to not been generated or being buffered somewhere because of some systems down?
