Those who have AKG k702, k712, philips x2hr, sennheiser hd560s, hd58x and/or beyerdynamic dt900 pro x, would you still be looking for/keeping Soundmagic HP1000 ? As i don't have a top tier closed back, mainly open backs, and this headphone is the only one that interests me lately.
PS. 2023.08.22 After two years of waiting and looking for a good deal on ebay, today i bought hp1000 for half a price of the full amazon price, my first proper closed backs since akg k550 8-10 years ago! cannot wait for delivery
PSS. 2023.08.26. After half a day i am impressed with the headphones after several combos, it was great with LG v60 quad dac, it forced full quad dac mode with 66ohms of hp1000. And it felt even better with Desktop DAC like Fiio K5 Pro, it handles hp1000 very well, great with melodic death metal, progressive metal, and absolutely exceptional with Jazz/Progressive rock, detailed, musical, spacious, not too much bass (for more bass i have bluetooth headphones). It seems as if the headphones sound a bit bright, which was not a problem with quad dac and Fiio k5 pro, and with Hidizs s9 pro usb DAC i thought it sounded too harsh, the worst combo I tried actually.. Wanted to go back to LG v60 / K5 Pro asap.
In competitive games awareness of enemies direction/bullets/explosions was really good, i thought i have open back headphones on my head :d wicked good soundstage, (ofc still not at the levels of true open backs like Akgk702/hd560s, or philips x3) I am saving these cans in my collection from now on! Recommend!
Update as of 2023.08.28. Finally tried them with Fiio K5 Pro & Bluetooth Shanling UP4 (via USB cable), lovely combos too, so at least 3 sources make Hp1000 sound great for me, such nice vocal centric, minimal bass (where bass really kicks in when it's a really bassy song, and when you increase the volume) good soundstage headphones for less money
