Soundmagic HP1000 Support and Discussion Thread

I wonder what your impressions are on the following aspects compared to the hp100/150:
-neutrality
-soundstage
-build quality, especially the hinges
-bass impact and extension

Should have full review next week but a few thoughts on your comments.
Not quite neutral, but no huge spikes either.
huge soundstage for a closed back, competes with some open backs in this aspect
hinges are all aluminum - much improved
bass impact is very good with roll-off becoming perceptible only in the lower 40s

Sorry for the delay, have had a huge queue of late and work is not letting up. I got my review up on the blog and will have it here this weekend.

Score looks pretty good, review was easy to read. I really do wonder how much more detailed these are compared to the hp100/150, or the DT1770 for that matter. You say they are an improvement but can you specify how much more detailed these cans are compared to the hp100/150?
The more forwards mids don't interfere with the soundstage and that is awesome to hear. Looks like the HP1000 looks like the most balanced over ear headphone Soundmagic has produced yet, the HP100/150 I always found to be a bit on the bright/exciting side.

I would put it behind the 1990 and Cascade and slightly ahead of the 1770 in resolution.

Iooks like these have much better build quality in relation to the hp151,however the price at £299 is way over the normal competitive price of the soundmagic range.I cant see them competing against the likes of the Meze 99s.

I can see them competing with the 99s. The build is not as classic with the walnut on the 99s, but the stage is larger by a good margin on the 1000 and I think the detail level is a bit improved as well.

I made a video review about the Soundmagic HP1000! All the memes, jokes, and more in the video, and don't worry, there's a full written review coming soon too! I think that if you like a brighter signature, those are a real gem, pairs well with warmer sources fore a more natural final result!

Anyone else willing to share their experiences with this can :D?:L3000:

Random thoughts from my experience with these cans last year:
- great soundstage: width on par with Elegia, but better depth e height; more 3D; very good layering; but overall sounds a bit artificial
- too much highs and lows in the FR --> degraded instruments' timbre accuracy; a bit unnatural
- forward famale vocals, too much
- upper mids/lower treble emphasis, fatiguing; hearing is a bit muffled when I take them off after a couple of hours (listening at moderate levels)
- sometimes there is a sort of faint decay in the upper treble, like mosquitos, "zeeeeng"; really subtle, but audible
Returned.
