I just bought these and they sound great. However, I was reading the amazon reviews and some said the housing on the ear buds broke and rendered the headphones unusable. Consequently, I decided to cut strips of electrical tape and cover the entire metal ear bud housing. I also wrapped where the cord goes into the earbuds. The only place sound or air can escape is through the rubber ear bud tips right?
I would like to know if my electrical tape wrapping the outside of the housing could change the sound or reduce the bass? It's hard for me to tell, but it seems like I might be getting less bass after I did this. Also, it may sound a little harsher but I'm not sure. . Although this could all be in my head or not remembering exactly how they sounded before I used the electrical tape.
I ruined my last two pairs of image s-4's so I would like to keep the tape on if its not hurting my sound. Thx.
