Was it the lock button?

exact same thing happened to me, the on off works fine when the lock is engaged

Nope it was not the lock button - was a software freeze - needed to do the hard reset and paperclip push hole reset multiple times to force a clean boot.

Anyway ok now

Spot on, this is what I will recommended too. And maybe a charging status when pressing a button (Turning off)

I haven't seen anyone mention it here, but Soundaware just launched an Esther with Femto clock called M1 Pro in Mainland China. It's currently on sale for RMB 3998 (original Esther is 2998) and the first batch is limited to 100 pieces.

According to erji.net, owners of the original versions can have theirs upgraded for a fee.

Not sure about international availability though.

Found a DAP comparison thread (erji.net, Chinese only) which states the output impedance of the M1 is 10.5 Ω, a little too high for BA IEMs I'm afraid. According to the designer, a 10Ω resistor was added to 1) prevent short circuit and 2) suppress hiss with sensitive phones.
