Those cars are cool(not sure about yellow cars). But go try and sit in one. Even better, try and get out of one without looking like a drunk 90 year old with bad hips.

Yeah, but this is just how these cars look to my eyes (yellow is a cool colour if not the best option). Ergonomics are a completely different story.

One of my favs;

Thanks, now I've got that iconic horn sound/melody stuck in my head. 🤣

Well, a local company owner who is about to turn 83 years later this year has got/had a quite impressive car pool (Porsche 996 or 997 911 Turbo (don't remember for certain as it's been quite a while since he had it) that was later given to his son, Carrera GT, Mercedes SLS AMG, 918 Spyder, 991.1 GT3 RS, 992 GT3 RS, and probably some others that I don't know of). Not sure if he still owns all of them, I only know for certain that he has still got the 991 GT3 RS and 992 GT3 RS at the moment. And you know what? All of them were and are used by him as daily drivers, and the Carrera GT, 918 Spyder and SLS were even used for travelling to Frankfurt, Berlin, France, Switzerland and as I just learnt (thanks to websites dedicated to car spotting where you can look up the number plate and see all of the corresponding spottings) even Spain and Andorra.
Seeing (and hearing) that CGT was always quite a spectacle - in my opinion definitely one of the most beautiful sports cars produced in the past 100 years, and also the most iconic car that he has got/had. That 992 GT3 RS on the other hand... frankly looks somewhat out of place to me on the road with all of its aero elements and especially that massive wing, and the colour that he got it in isn't making it look any less flashy 😲. In comparison, that 991.1 GT3 RS, while it's got a paint job that isn't really any less flashy, looks much tamer and truthfully even "normal" on the road.

Maintaining a flexible and healthy body is key.

I wasn't really talking about super cars.

Back then even quite a few normal family cars had character; I mean regardless whether or not you like the aesthetics, you can't deny they had character. One of my favourite designs:

@2leftears

What's even more interesting about the iconic Citroen DS is all of the unique and unusual tech that was implemented. But I'm rather certain that you already know about that.

Indeed 👍

@CK Moustache ,

Talking about unusual tech in family cars of those days, I assume you know about the DAF Variomatic (CVT) drive of the Dutch DAF car? I have seen many of those in my youth:

See? Subjective comments are universal and can be applied to about any topic and still "make sense" to most !!!

(PD: No hard feelings @CK Moustache !!! I'm just hijacking your post for (what I think is) a good cause :ksc75smile: :ksc75smile: :ksc75smile: :ksc75smile: )

I think I do.

Speaking of transmission/gear box... That of the Koenigsegg CC850 is quite impressive. A few years ago either when I woke up or went to bed, I had the thought of how cool it were to have a car with a three-pedal manual stick shift gear box that can also be put into a fully automated shift gate. And those madmen at Koenigsegg now engineered and built just that. 🤯

The S2 Aston Martin Lagonda was also quite unusual and ahead of its time with its digital interior and touch-sensitive controls.

@XTF1

Reading that gave me a good chuckle. 😁
(Can't deny that the re-phrasing now makes that company owner appear like a (stereo-) typical audiophool who knows nothing about the tech, measured technical parameters, is rather somewhat ignorant and just buys what's expensive, flashy and is currently in the hype. But that's definitely not him. While I've never talked to him/met him in person, he's a well-known local important figure, and what he's turned his parents' really small family business into within just a few years (now a major engineering company in the robotic, automotive, medical and aerospace sector) is quite impressive, and him and the company are giving back quite a lot to the local community, such as supporting young talents in the scientific field.)
