Hi,

I cannot borrow the Senns HD650 from the store to try out at home, so I find it difficult to gauge how much they leak compared to the DT880. My girlfriend said she could clearly hear music as I played it in the DT880 at home, will she hear more or less from the HD650?

Prologue: I had decided to get a DT880 (250 or 600 ohm) for listening to mainly classical music (chamber/opera). I excluded the D2000 out of mainly comfort, and not having heard the HD650 I excluded it nonetheless since it was 25% more pricey. Now, however, I have listened to them at the store and like what I hear, not more not less though than the DT880, just different. But I am thinking I could pay the extra premium for the aesthetic advantage of the Senns over the Beyers.

Thanks!

Of course not. I just want the less noisier of the two.

I am a little surprised though, I would not qualify the DT880 as a "noisy person".

The DT880 leaks less sound than the HD650 by a good amount. I wouldn't say the DT880 is completely open :)

Indeed, the DT880 is semiopen. But the guy in the store said that the HD650 was also semiopen.
