As far as older games go, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. runs mostly on the GPU. Makes my 4870 overheat and that's what I'll use to test my new card's cooling ability. Graphics will probably be tested on Skyrim and Sleeping Dogs. My 4870 used to run cool and now its at 60 idle and 90s on max load...and thats even after cleaning it, replacing its thermal paste, and bumping the fan up to 90%. I'd say an upgrade was justified. I'm glad I didn't keep the sound card.
 
And on a sidenote....I just got a 2013 Kia Rio and I love it. Just may need to upgrade some components later. lol
