Hamsters are cute, cuddly and friendly too. But some of 'em are nasty and like to bite, depends on the personality of the hamster. I've had good ones and bad ones.

If you have a soft spot for baby chicks, might I suggest you avoid the (amazing) film "Baraka". There is a sequence in the movie that shows a chick processing factory... it's the most emotionally confusing thing I have ever seen. At once, you are smiling and giggling because there are so many cute little fuzzballs, but you want to cry because of the scale and mechanical indifference by which they are "processed".

I had the pleasure of incubating chicken eggs waaaaaaay back in grade 1. Needless to say, the experience made for a particularly strong attachment to the little fellas, stinky though they most certainly are.
