Hi all. I'm looking to get some cheapish headphones which will be used mainly for watching TV and listening to my ipod and I have narrowed it down to these two. The reasons being that they are both fairly cheap and have semi-decent reviews.

I should point out that for the last 5 years I have been using the world famous MDR-v150's  which I have well and truly worn out and are completely knackered, so anything is going to be an upgrade to these!

I have so far already purchased some Sennheiser HD201's which I have taken back as I found them too big and although the sound was reasonably clear it was also lacking in bass & volume. Now I know that Sony has a bad rep these days but apparently these two models are fairly decent:

Also had a thorough look around Head-fi as well as reading customer reviews on amazon etc.... What I am really after is some practical Head-fi advice which will help me decide which ones to go for.

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions - a newbie in need :D

I've got the zx300 and have to say they are pretty good for the price i'm not an expert but and will be looking to upgrade to a more expensive pair soon for no reason other than a more expensive better quality product.

I think i read that these are basically the same as the v150 inside but that could be the zx100 and i could quite easily be mistaking.

There pretty small probably smaller than you think so you would no problems wearing them about outside there quite stylish but i think when there on your ears the band is quite circular and sticks out i've got a pretty small head but and theres no padding on the top so their not super comfy.

They don't really block out much noise the bass is pretty decent and the all round sound is good i would recommend them as a cheap pair.

As for watching tv the cables only about 1.2m so don't no if this would suit you and also the cable is thick.

I'm not an expert but hope this helps,

Thanks for the replies guys - food for thought.

Anyone else like to chip in with any advice?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from users of the MDR-570LP's as these have been getting a good rep recently.
