What are some high quality cable options for H3? I'm hoping to change the horrendous stock cable (the ear hooks are the problem otherwise the cable is nice) on A3. Any suggestions?

I have a chance to pick up a brand new H3 for 209 Canadian  and was wondering if thats still worth picking up? It would be my first really good in ears too. I don't have the option to get the A3 here locally and I was stuck deciding between the Ex1000, MDR 7550 and XBA H3. The cheapest I can get the 7550 locally is 260 with tax.
 
Is the H3 a better buy for the money?

You weren't very happy with the overwhelming bass a bit back. Did James' mods help or was it removing the filters?

I removed the filters and it seem to have helped, ut i will try out tape mod too to see what happens next

It seems to have smoothed the bass kick waaay better and still retaining the smooth silky trebble, and the soundstage

Sorry for the late reply. Got em from my local sony retail store. They are all closing down and closing shop on March 8th I believe. So I took a chance and tried to get discounts and they ended up giving me more than 50 percent discount a brand new one. I actually returned my H3 and got a Z5 instead. Buyers remorse hasn't hit me yet

Different stores are closing on different days. The Upper Canada mall one is closing sunday. They were the ones who sold me an H3 for $197 CDN (175 before taxes). Call around and be nice. Ask if they are moving out is that true? Can you get a discount since they are leaving? Most people will say 15 or 35. But Uppercanada mall gave me 50 percent off after I cajoled em a bit. Mind you this was done on the phone I didn't have to bargain in person.

The sony style store at Upper Canada mall has an open box for the ZX1 music player. They are willing to give 35 percent off. Maybe you guys can sweet talk them into more  
 
Yorkdale mall has a demo unit Pha 3. One guy said he will give for 50 percent off but that was cuz i got the z5. Now they changed their mind and will most likely stick with 35 percent off.
 
 
PS is anyone willing to sell me their spare XBA H3 cable? Please?
