My friend/headphone provider found me a new xb1000 for $180.I used the sony xb700 for a college class and the sound isolation was enough for me and the people next to me.My question is does the xb1000 have around the same sound isolation as the xb 700, since I've heard its awful but the same for the rest of the xb series.

It most likely isn't any better than the XB500s I have, due to the same vent design they have. I think the XB100s have a small vent around the housing though. So they won't isolate very well.

The xb1000 have very horrible isolation IMO but I'm coming from in-ear mOniters.. And they leak HORRIBLEY people around you can hear and maybe even sing every lyric to every song with you. But hey too bad for them not me. Lol

If I remember correctly the XB lines has bass vents on the housing, which leaks sound and quite loud too.. I used to own the xb700, they do isolates quite a bit from outside noise, but it leaks sound..

I dont know how much leakage the xb1000 might suffers from though.. I imagine they will be pretty much similar of not the same.

cheers,
