The prices sound pretty high according to engadget! Lots of mentions about it's audio tech credentials, maybe they've given up on trying to topple the Touch and aiming this at the specialty market?

That price might only apply to Japan...after all this is the Japanese version.

i care less about tv tuner but drag and drop and sonic stage? still no gapless unless you decide to use windows and sonicstage and atrac, but drag and drop may be nice to have!

I bought one via my Japanese friend. Now waiting for the package. I don't know anything about it yet except that it's a touchscreen and it's a Sony.

you mean other than gadgets like the playstations which hit usa first? or do you mean japanese gadgets? if you mean japanese gadgets then yes, but gadgets from other countries filter into japan at a much slower pace than even the usa.

Well I have no doubt that the sound quality would be good as it's a history record of most Sony DAP. What I am scared of the implementation of S-Digital Amplifier which of course not good when it comes to home theater. I am anticipating this as my replacement for iPod Touch. The only thing that clinging me to the iPod is the interface and that's about it. Hopefully Sony would be the same or better. I could careless about SonicStage or whatever because I used it before and I am flexible.
