So would a dual ES9018K2M be better than the single ES9018S? I was looking at the new RHA Dacamp coming out which seems to have better features like gain, bass and treble control, 10 hour playback and is cheaper than the PHA-3.

No, ES9018S is the superior one, doesn't matter how many K2M you have in there

Very interesting. Why would RHA be using the inferior dac?

I don't know...lol, many company is using K2M. It is mobile version of ES Sabres. The 918S is Desktop class, and so is not easy to design fit in a portable chassis. It also consumes ways more power

Makes sense, I guess that's why it only has 5hrs playback in balanced. Looks like the pha-3 wins again.

Any word on the new Sony hi res **** yet? I'm going mental.

Edit. Seems to be true. No pha-4 but a new desktop balanced amp dac. Well spotted Whitigir!

No word on the PHA 4 but there's a new PHA-2A with a balanced out

More details here:

Thanks! How'd you find that one? Are they still announcing new products?

I was just browsing thru the website and came across the same. I think they'd have one or two mid level IEMs coming up too

Oh cool, so they're still announcing new stuff over the next few days?
