Hello,

Just got these strange HP/Ear buds from Tokyo earlier today...

I test driven them at Ginza Sony Shop. At first glimpse, the topology and the design of the PFR-V1 looks quite strange to me. It sounds very open with well-defined sound stage, after 20min of audition I can't help myself and acquired 2 units of PFR-V1 from the shop...

Additional purchase - 1 unit of MDR-EX700SL. I am not a huge ear-bud fans but I got it anyways.

Hello,

Price for PFR-V1 is JPY44,800-, MDR-EX700SL is JPY29,800-.
Since I haven't got a decent set up with myself and sufficient time to have them tested(still travelling), I cannot provide any review at this stage.

Regards,
SUN

Wow, two of them? Here is a pretty big thread on them if you are interested. How are the EX700s, I remember seeing some mention of them, but no one has actually bought a pair to my knowledge.

You got the PFR-V1's for around $392, that's a lot less than AudioCubes is selling them for.

And the member 003 has already bought them and posted his impressions about them in a recent thread.

AudioCubes is a ripoff for that price. All the other e-tailors that sell them and ship to the US charge around $470, shipping included. I got mine quick on e-bay for $490 shipped. There is a place that has them for like $466 shipped but it says there is a 21 day ETA.

I am getting MDR-EX700 soon. I hope it's better than MDR-EX90.

This are Japanese products. You can get them imported through online retailers.
