Can anyone comment on background noise / hiss on the NW-ZX707? Does it hiss with very sensitive IEMs? Even if it is only a tiny bit.
I don’t hear any noise or hiss. Can anyone comment on background noise / hiss on the NW-ZX707? Does it hiss with very sensitive IEMs? Even if it is only a tiny bit.
If you don’t need the power you can nap really good condition US version of the ZX707 for under $450. That’s a steal at that price.I am looking for a DAP any info about pricing ?
What IEMs do you use? Anyone maybe with something very sensitive like an Andromeda who can comment on hissing?I don’t hear any noise or hiss.
Blessing 2 Dusk, IER M9, RHA T20, and Chu.What IEMs do you use? Anyone maybe with something very sensitive like an Andromeda who can comment on hissing?
Sony walkman is well known for its dark and clean background i have tried zx707 until ZM2 and it is true. I dont think you will find any hissing like other chifi DAP. But expensive chifi nowadays are very good too. If you are worried about noise maybe plug to the 3.5 jack. What IEMs do you use? Yeah, saw that post. Eh, I'll stick to wired then.Have a look at the last posts in the NW-WM1A/ZM2 thread. @The1Signature has shared his experience with using this latest SONY TWS earphones in a crowded place in combo with Samsung S23 and LDAC codec.
I would say that it is a no-go for such a usage case.
True. But @FreeTime mentioned that is maybe because of a control room close to me or so.Have a look at the last posts in the NW-WM1A/ZM2 thread. @The1Signature has shared his experience with using this latest SONY TWS earphones in a crowded place in combo with Samsung S23 and LDAC codec.

I use an IEM that has a sensitivity of 121dB/mv, 38.5 ohm impedance and there is no hiss at all, the IEM is the EarSonics S-EM9. If I use the Kojo E-G together with the 707, the background is dead silent even with this high sensitivity IEM, and you can pick up the room reverberations from the recording! Can anyone comment on background noise / hiss on the NW-ZX707? 38.5 ohm impedance is actually pretty high for an IEM, so whatever you are using likely will not pick up any noise. Andromeda for example has an impedance of around 8 ohm and it picks up EVERY hiss if it exists.I use an IEM that has a sensitivity of 121dB/mv, 38.5 ohm impedance and there is no hiss at all, the IEM is the EarSonics S-EM9. Edit: W.R.T. my taste, I use the following sound adjustment (1) DC Phase Linearizer to type B High (2) Vinyl Processor to Surface Noise, this would render my S-EM9's slightly brighter sound to more solid and balanced .. and the end result is just "perfec" to me !!!
