500+ Head-Fier
What is better on ZX1, more exactly?I had a brief hands-on with the ZX500, it's pretty decent sounding, but somehow I felt my ZX1 actually did better!

I charge my ZX2 at most twice a week, that will be approx. 100 recharge cycles in 1 year. Most lithium-ion batteries only get up to 500 full charges before they start to go out. I think I might have gotten 500 days of use out of my Hiby R6 before its battery gave up the ghost, and it had gone through at least 300 recharge cycles. I doubt any player on the market now will give more than 3 years of good battery life (even with light usage), but I wish you luck in the search.
FYI, the ZX-507 will charge in about 2 hours with a PD/quickcharge 3 charger.
Zx2 has very large battery I think. The longest playtime is actually the ZX100.I charge my ZX2 at most twice a week, that will be approx. 100 recharge cycles in 1 year.
For 500 cycles I will need at least 5 years so I don't see any problem with the battery life.
Well, today I had about 3.5 hours of usage, with the volume mostly at 60 through the balanced connection, using PowerAmp, and power meter went from 100% to 67%. I top off the battery daily or every other day, so I haven't the foggiest what my cycles will end up being. In all honesty, I'm sure once the battery in this starts to go, I'll be looking toward the next newest "shiny" anyway. I still wouldn't mind having it useful for a solid 2 years though.I charge my ZX2 at most twice a week, that will be approx. 100 recharge cycles in 1 year.

For 3.5h it doesn't look too good.
Btw, I use the ZX2 only in airplane mode.
It's above average for an Android DAP. My power usage was with WiFi off. I think I was only getting 8 or so hours a charge with the Hiby R6 and the Fiio X7ii (edit: 8 or so hours on the 3.5mm connection, not the 2.5 balanced). I think the advertised long battery life they claim the ZX-507 has is with Sony's battery saver stuff running while using the Walkman app.Are you referring to the ZX507?

I've had my ZX507 for nearly a week now and I have similar experience. With GMMP and balanced connection, the battery drain is slightly above 10% per hour.Well, today I had about 3.5 hours of usage, with the volume mostly at 60 through the balanced connection, using PowerAmp, and power meter went from 100% to 67%.
why don't you use walkman player app instead of GMMP?I've had my ZX507 for nearly a week now and I have similar experience. With GMMP and balanced connection, the battery drain is slightly above 10% per hour.
In contrast, as I sometimes leave the Walkman app playing for burn-in, the battery drain is notably slower.
I don't think there's much difference between unbalanced and balanced connection in terms of battery life.
Sony seems to have done a really good job optimizing their Walkman app, but the lack of replaygain support and poor sorting option (can only sort albums in alphabetical order) makes it pretty much useless to me.
Does it support TIDAL HIFI?
On the spec it states MQA supported, so will it play TIDAL MASTERS?
Will drive Sony MDR-Z1R?
What a total disappointment. Why bother adding streaming apps to it then.Nope. It downsamples everything other than Walkman app to 16/48 so TIDAL Masters (24/96 ?) can't be played at its original resolution.
