Are y'all as troubled by Sony's battery practices as I am? Well, for whatever it's worth, here's the service manual for the NW-ZX507, from which it's possible to glean at least a few details on the ZX507's battery. (Battery-related information starts on page 31.) Perhaps it'll inspire a bold soul to have a peek inside their own NW-ZX50*?
5-17-8. EU volume regulation check (EU Vol regulation) Note: Not used for the servicing. :frowning2:

Looks like the ZX707 might be coming out next year
I am really looking forward to see the release of the ZX707/successor of ZX507 in early 2023. I have been a big fan of ZX507 and have been using it for almost 3 years. Its SQ, and its small footprint make it such an excellent portable DAP for daily use. One feature that I love most on the ZX507 is the EQ, in which I can set different EQ settings to suit each of my IEMs.

Hello guys.
I just bought a zx507 Asian version to pair with my SONY IER M9. My main use will be for streaming (TIDAL MASTER - UAPP). Is there any setting that optimizes the sound quality for this type of use? Which google apps should i block to save battery without hampering the use of streaming apps? Thanks!'

After about 20 hours of listening to the zx 507, compared to the Questyle m15, the Questyle M15 offers a more neutral reference sound. it's like listening to a band playing in a rehearsal room where the instruments are closer together and it throws the details in your face. The zx 507 offers an experience like watching a concert from the audience in a stadium.

In regards to your analogy I find the ZX507 rather wet sounding and it feels like you’re listening to something in the distance which you can observe. Reverb has a particular character here. I have the Questyle QP2R and agree it feels like you’re in the room with the band and tones are more natural.

If anyone is interested I'm considering selling my uncapped ZX-507.

My friend is traveling to Japan in a few weeks.

Is there any problems with getting a zx507, Japanese Version?

It would be extremely difficult--if not outright impossible--to properly service the ZX507, Japanese or otherwise. In North America and elsewhere, Sony has discontinued its parts supply for the ZX507. Even battery replacement is impractical; not only would the old battery require desoldering, it's unlikely any repair shop would have access to reputable replacements. It's likely your friend wouldn't have much more than an expensive paperweight in a few years.

can anyone help me to do the firmware update of my zx507? It is in version 4.00.2, the dap says that there is an update, but when I try to perform it through OTA, the status simply does not go beyond 0%
