, it is a bit matte looks, but still greta DQ (displaying quality)

as for the sound in orchestral music i wanna hear @PoRidge opinion now that he has a bit more time with his zx100, i seem to note a pretty airy stage with at leat Haydn's symphonies (recording with Antal Dorati Philharmonia Hungarica), nice timbre for the instruments, nice separation, airy soundstage with nice spaciousness and expansion & decay of sound

@gerelmx1986,
since you have the A17 before, can you compare your listening volume on A17 and ZX100?
is the ZX100 really more powerful? do you hear some hissing?

Hissing mmm No, maybe because using same-brand headphones thus sinergy

Volue on zx100 is more powerful. vol. 10 is already too loud and after that islike logarithmic volume gets too loud with each press, even on big cans

Currently  a using vol. 06 somehing  never did on the A17,in the A17 i used min 07 or 08 commonly: 9 for loud up to 12

ZX100 min 05-07, commn 07-08 loud up to 10 rarely 11

been wondering between x5 2nd gen and sony zx100 and zx2, but maybe i'll wait for that anniversary in 2019.
They might get something interesting by then?
For real, does any one can compare a sound quality between  fiio x5ii and sony zx100?

i can still notice hiss, but even with my most sensitive pair, it can still be considered good hoss control.

i have not been listening in quite some time. i left it playing. last checked at 40hr(or 60, i lost track of time) mark of burn in. the soundstage is quite obviously larger, depth has also improved. i don't use it for orchestra cause it cannot handle the dynamics. neither can the dx90.

I find it can handle the dynamics pretty well for all music even church organ and orchestral, don't know why you say so

I have compared them before but before that let me share some technical specs:
A17 - No balanced output, it is standard stereo output
ZX100 - balanced output 15mW+15mW

ZX100 is indeed powerful, not to mention the output is balanced type which means two separate channels. (Right and left)
Balanced output improves bass and soundstage but for me I am using A2X series which also support balanced output.
(10mW+10mW)

I have drool at ZX100 how it drives my Sony MDR-1a.

@ maxli,
thanks for sharing, looks good 50% more powerful than A20's. if my TF-10 (32ohm) die my next iem will be W30, not too sensitive 30 ohm
i think no worries about hissing.. i wish the 100 has high and low gain for output.

NO is NOT BALANCED is normal stereo output, the 15mW + 15Mw is per channel so 15mW in LEFT and 15mW in RIGHT channel, the balanced  is the ZX2.

The ZX100 Has TRRRS Because the microphones for the noise cancelling earbuds note how many R's i put no mistake
