well...look at the Tera Player.... we all know there is not a single DAP on the market which components cost more than 50 bucks.
Then they are assembled by child labour in some Asian sweatshops. R&D costs close to zero as its not rocket science to make
an audio player. They generate better profit margins than drug trade.
 
Still, we are happy to pay ridiculous prices and find it noteworthy if a nice DAP is sold below 1000 bucks...

do appreciate if we can focus here on the experience of the player.  if we want to rant about price, it will be never ending.  value is relative.  well beyond just the cost of putting the hardware together.

It's a Pre-Order. last week it was in a fashion show in Senayan City, now it's in Anime Festival Asia.

Not even thinking of getting the EU model...that damn volume limiting rubbish will put me off...what i might do is buy from amazon and return if i am not happy..

or you can order the chinese model from accessoryJack (they do have english and other lang), for me is no trouble as customs seldomly check packtes, only see tax declaration and GREEN LIGHT

This is a web forum where we exchange thoughts, concerns, speculation and comparison constantly.  The slightly off-tangent conversations about a product before it's release is what I find endearing about Head-Fi.  The product has not been released yet so experiential comments are almost nonexistent.  Why not avoid this thread until the product is released?  In the meantime I enjoy the banter.
