My theory of this of ZX2 and zx 1 is that sony maybe found that android OS, don't knw what to be exact, did interfere withthe sound quality?

and they now experiemnt with ZX100 using a *less* demanding OS and cutting down on featureslike WIFI

We're usually the last to get the cool Sony products.

I wonder why Sony just don't try to crack the US market.  I believe they have more success in Europe even.

Some one who has owned ZX1 or ZX2 how does those render 16/44.1 music? 98% of my lib is CD (16/44 or 16/48) FLAC and 2% is Hi-res FLAC (do far 24/from 44 to 192KHz)

My A17 renders both types very good but 24 sounds heavenly, so share your experiences

the brief comparison between zx100 and zx2 offered a couple of pages back was based on 16/44.1 ... already sold the zx1, can't comment on that

I sold my ZX1 to upgrade to the ZX2, and try to use 24/96 files wherever possible, but you know it can be hard to find, especially for newer music :) I did not regret making the jump at all, even more so when I went with a TRRS terminated cable. The simple fact is a better quality recording will give you more, but I did spend some time with my ZX1 comparing the same files, via the same IEM before it sold, I was convinced it sounded better on the ZX2 (which had about 110 hours on it at the time).

I'm not Tyll, so I won't be able to go into as much detail, but I do know what I heard :) Never owned any other Walkman though, so can't help with comparing your A17
