For those of you into streaming, and hate the lagy feeling of streaming app on walkman, try Qobuz connet. It basically allows you to navigate your streaming library from your smart phone at your native phone speed and once you have the right song, you can send the playback request to your walkman. It does not stream from your phone to walkman but from qobuz server directly.

Rarely I post about what I would consider my end game setup as everything eventually bores me. However, 2 months strong and this is my current favorite setup. Everything work in perfect harmony.

so you just open the qobuz app in walkman and your phone at the same time. and use your phone to send instructions. the qobuz app in walkman will play the songs automatically.

is this what you mean?

1)Both devices must be on the same network.
2)Both must have qobuz account, same ID and logged in.
3)Run the Qobuz APP on both devices.
4) Use one device as control hub and one as output. In my case I use the Qobuz desktop app as control hub and walkman as the output option.
-Using any faster device makes streaming to walkman like a dream.
5)You can even use walkman as acontrol hub, as it works both way but not ideal due to slow walkman speed.

Pro: You are not steaming from your phone to walkman, but you are telling Quboz to play this on walkman, therefore ensuring no degradation in sound and waste of battery usage due to streaming from your mobile or tablet.

The old FW01, but this cable truly made a difference. It's Astral astral acoustics amethyst which you can buy from HK at 199 aud.
Sadly, it looks like the cable is sold out

Last year there were a couple of rumors of a new Walkman this year that'll knock our socks off. Maybe it's the new Xperia 1 VII with Qualcomm DAC and gold solder? Hope not.

I also don't think the market is ready for another signature series just yet (if ever). We'll see :)

Other than the ui being slow there is not really anything I'd want from a new walkman. The wm1zm2 sounds fantastic as it is

Why not? Considering the WM1ZM2/WM1AM2 were released over three years ago a new series is overdue and the Sony engineers have no doubt been working to improve the sound and especially UI for which there is always plenty of scope otherwise we wouldn't be where we are today. I'm sure a new signature series would be more than welcome by most audiophiles - so bring it on Sony!

Anyone have any experience between the NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2, and chord mojo/poly as a portable solution?

Would love to hear your thoughts on how they compare with regards to sound quality. I've been hesitant to go the 'DAP' route for the fear of bad software UX, but these seem fairly compelling sonically. Is there anything I'm missing?

Agree, I am not at all keen to see a new generation. I prefer non Android systems but I think the UI is really not bad, I guess people are just spoilt by current generation smart phones and expect dedicated music players to perform as well even on non-music-playing capabilities.
