Swiss bit may sound cleaner due to less power requirements (150mA) when fully active vs say micron which requires more power @340 mA. This is for the 256GB Industrial cards. More power usually leads to signal degradation / interference.

Love Micron Industrial cards, that's what I use in all 3 DAPs I own. Fortunately, I am one of those audiophiles that can pick up these differences. Will order a Swissbit card and test. Thanks for sharing.

One thing I did notice is that on my Sony ZX500, I notice a difference but it's small vs the iBasso DX240 (AMP8 MKIIs) where you can tell the difference right away when testing a consumer card vs an industrial card like Micron. The micron just delivers full dynamics, more width and depth where even 16/44 FLAC files sound like high quality DSD.

Sony probably over processes the sound aka Sony house sound.
Try with all DSP and EQ off to see if that makes a difference? I believe the S-Master to be more simple and direct than Delta-Sigma, but DSP/EQ may mask/filter the signal.

Sadly the WM1AM2 is a bit underpowered to drive planars properly. I just purchased a DCA Noire X last week and had to get an amp to pair with my 1AM2 in order to drive the Noire X. Went with the iFi Gryphon. I wish Sony would release a new firmware update for the 1AM2 so we can get max volume output from its USB-C port when connected to a portable amp.
Is your WM1AM2 a capped version? Do you use balanced connection? I would like to know as I am interested in the Noire X as well and I have an uncapped WM1AM2. Currently using an Aune SR7000 which matches perfectly fine with my uncapped WM1AM2. (And it's the best sounding headphone I've heard until now)

I got a NW-WM1AM2 (uncapped).
Got an annoying issue with youtube music where I cannot open the app after a restart regardless how many times I tap on the icon.
Once it does open, the song that was previously playing is displayed with a "loading/buffer" icon and playback resumes only after several minutes. Force closing the app and restarting it will still incur delay, but less severe.
This particular issue can be due to: old OS, newer YT version (backwards compatibility may be broken causing delays). I don't think it's ram related, but looks pretty much OS/software related. Honestly, the walkman is great (if you use it offline). As soon as you want to use it with any other app than the one sony provides, it's kinda BS and feels like a sluggish nokia 3310. I still love the sound tho.

Anyone here having the same issue?

No...1AM2 plays well for me with all the apps I've tried: Spotify, Qobus (what I use), Wavelet, support apps for 4 different TWS, all work without issue.

My hypothesis on how this happen is that when you are playing music with the walkman app, it gives a gradient color in the backdrop of the album cover.
With the edge of the gradient being white and the lcd got used to with gradient being there(maybe it's android os or it's display controller).
Guessed mine is worse....

is the battery replaceable? can i do it myself?
If you mean can a simple flap/back be lifted, and the old battery popped out and replaced with a new one, the answer is NO.
The battery is soldered in, and needs a bit of disassembly, which is relatively easy to do, for somebody with DIY experience.
The other problem is in getting a replacement OEM battery. These are not available, so would need to source an equivalent battery.
Getting a shop that does Mods, or a competent DIY to source the battery and do the replacement is one of the options.
EDIT: Getting it done by Sony is the first option.
Plus plugging in a small external battery should keep it working, as long as the internal battery does not short out. (most of the time it does not)

Though this has not been a major concern, as the Sony batteries have held up very well.
