Thanks, fortunately after I restarted, the problem resolved. The (physical) play/pause button has operated normally since, so no reset was needed. I'm hoping there was something about the case that caused the error, and maintained the error even after I removed the case and waited a while. Not quite sure why it would, but I suppose anything is possible.
In a situation where the case is pressing/activating a button, it can sometimes lock up the player. In this situation, removing the case can fix some scenarios, but not the ones where the permanent operation of buttons has caused the player to lock up. A restart usually fixes the problem. If that does not work, then the next thing to try is a reset, or Firmware re-install (if possible).

So what you ran across is "normal", and not a reason for worry.

hello you audiophiles,
I have the WM1AM2 and am really happy with the interaction with the Sennheiser IE900.
I have asked Sony Support the following questions, which unfortunately have not been answered.
If you, as specialists, would answer these questions, I would like to thank you in advance.

Now to the questions.

1. Which services can I deactivate, or which services are essential for the basic function. If I want to keep using the Playstore ?

2. When I install the sound measurement app, I see volume-dependent surcharges. How can I disable the microphone(s)?

Thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely
Michael Urbach

i used to use peli 1060 for wm1z / wm1z m2 + iem.

i wanted have the wm1zm2 and iem in separate cases.

would you recommend the peli 1040 for the wm1zm2? It fits perfectly in it and has room for just 1 layer of room around it.

For Singapore I can suggest Jaben @ Adelphi and Zeppelin & Co @ Sim Lim Sq.

Thank you! Just visited Jaben at Adelphi Mall... what a little haven for HiFi enthusiasts!! Don't get that in the UK usually. Tried some Sennheiser 650's, 660S and 660S2 all on 4.4 balanced... never tried openback headphones before. They all needed High gain and volume at 80.

Another place in Adelphi:

Also went to Addicted to Audio whilst I was in Perth, Australia a couple of weeks ago.

Yes quite airy, not as much bass as the XBA-Z5's, but then they are like subwoofers in your ears. Sound stage on one pair was very narrow.. can't remember which pair, I think the 650's. 660s' were good.. s2 not much different from what I could tell.

When you were at volume 80, they obviously did not need High Gain^^ but im nitpicking here again^^

No, 80 with High gain. Without high gain i needed volume at 100 or more. Certainly harder to drive than Sony headphones and IEMs. But its not only about volume.. the response was noticeably different and flatter without high gain on the headphones.

Hi need some opinion

I’ve been fans for Sony DAPs

WM1A, WM1Z , and currently my go to DAP is Sony WM1AM2

And my favourite IEM currently are Sony IER-Z1R and 64 Audio U4S

Here’s the questions,

I recently installed a proper car audio in my car, as i need to pick up and the kids to school everyday, and i need a proper music to company for the journey so that i won’t be sleepy early in the morning.

In my car I installed a Helix PSix Ultimate DSP which has several inputs, Bluetooth APTX HD, Digital Coaxial, Digital SPDI/F, and Analog RCA.

Currently i connect my Sony WM1AM2 to the Helix DSP using Bluetooth APTX HD since the helix can’t support LDAC. I tried connecting through cable to get better sound quality but since the sony don’t have optical output my inly best bet is using something like ddhifi tc100 usb-c to digital coaxial converter or make a 4.4mm balanced to stereo RCA cable.

Both which I don’t think are the best in terms of sound quality.

So I’m thinking maybe i need to change my DAP instead?

A lot of my friend who are also a car audio enthusiast are Using Astell and Kern SP 3000, and connect it to their DSP with a 3.5mm optical to Digital coaxial cable, and swear by the Sound quality it produce.

But from my personal experiences

I never like AK DAP, i never tried the sp3000 though , i tried the older sr25,sp2000, kann max and for me they sounded “thin” cold and less engaging to the sony dap that i had.

I don’t want to have several DAPs , i just want to have 1 that can follow me wherever i go , so my music collection is in 1 device .

can anyone here give inputs on how the AK SP 3000 perform compared to Wm1Am2 or Wm1Zm2

Thank you 🙏🏼
