500+ Head-Fier
So pretty unuseful icon for this device, since it has no mobile data.
You choosen just the right ones Final A8000 and Sony IER-Z1R. Also the IER-M9, Acoustune HS2000MX, ATH-IEX1, FitEar TG335, there are probably more. Can anyone advise what IEM's pair very well with the Sony sound signature and are not a difficult load and would work fine with a European version NW-WM1ZM2.
I like the look of the Oden's, Final A8000's and the Sony IER Z1R although unfortunately these aren't available in the UK anymore.
At the moment I am just doing my research.
Many thanks
Because android is designed for cellular (3g/4g/5g)smartphones and airplane mode by default turns off both cellular data and wifi but you can still manually toggle on wifi without exiting aeroplane mode. This is how aeroplane mode supposed to work, no issues at all.Does anyone know why if I am in aeroplane mode and switch on wifi, aero plane icon doesn't automatically switch off?
Actually your android os by default does turn on wifi in the background to get location or whatever “advertising”/“product improvement” google does.So pretty unuseful icon for this device, since it has no mobile data.
Just for IEM's? Outside my buying power to comment. Most expensive for me was the IER-M9's at ~£850.Budget upto £3500

If you don't want them why would hebuy my brand new empire odin
I will always skew towards Sony as I'm a fanboy. For Jewel, its close cause I love the extra dynamics P+ mode brings. But I do use Sony features like DSD remastering or Vinyl processing etcHow you liking it with Jewel / FT vs N8ii?
Think I'll have one incoming soon, try a different flavour with Jewel and see if I like it!I will always skew towards Sony as I'm a fanboy. For Jewel, its close cause I love the extra dynamics P+ mode brings. But I do use Sony features like DSD remastering or Vinyl processing etc
For iem's I only turn high gain for my Jolene's. The quad dynamic drivers really benefit from the extra power. It's not necessary tho. Just more of a preference. Bass feels more impactful to me with higher gain at lower volume than low gain and higher volume.I wonder if anyone prefer to use low gain on their iem? I personally think low gain give better bass.
that is something i'm not sure about also.Think I'll have one incoming soon, try a different flavour with Jewel and see if I like it!
One thing I'm curious about, and not directed particularly at yourself, is using an external amp. There's been a couple of posts in this thread about LO and double amping, different opinions, but one mentioning due to S-Master its pretty much a non issue anyway. Is there anything to consider if I wanted to add an external balanced amp (A100tb specifically), such as voltage?
Thanks for that, I knew I wasn't going crazy when thought it sounded worse with firmware 1.02. Sound is noticably noiser and background is less "black". Sharper and less HiRes and analog sounding. Also for those on firmware 1.02.01, if you are solely using the Walkman App for offline playback, I recommend to switch off Hi-Res Streaming mode. Somehow this recent firmware update has changed the sound. I find that the soundstage and volume balance sounds better with Hi-res streaming off.
Vision Ears EXT sounds absolutely amazing with 1AM2. I'm not one to get impressed easily, but this was just so addicting, fun, and a blast to listen to. Will be my next purchase, once I get enough funds. You choosen just the right ones Final A8000 and Sony IER-Z1R. Also the IER-M9, Acoustune HS2000MX, ATH-IEX1, FitEar TG335, there are probably more.
For people in Europe, Vision Ears is also a great choice imho. VE6/VE7/VE8 if you want All-BA Setups or something like the EXT or Phönix.
So if you want to buy as local as possible, have a look at the Vision Ears offerings

And also there is Sennheiser with its IE900 of course.
These are at least the Flagships that instantly come into my mind
I tested the EXT and i was a bit disaapointed that, even though it had 2 DDs, i did not sound ilke a DD setup. It kinda sounded like an All BA setup to me personally to be honest.Vision Ears EXT sounds absolutely amazing with 1AM2.
