SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2

Still need to get to that. Do you have specific questions? The bulk of questions I receved is if wm1zm2 worth extra over wm1am2, something I can't answer because I don't have access to am2 model.

But overall, the sound of wm1zm2 is great (excellent pair up synergy with all iems I have access to), the build is solid, the output power is adequate for most of the high end hybrid/tribrid/quadbrid iems and easier to drive cans.

You do have access to streaming apps, but the negative is that app performance is sluggish relative to other DAPs running Android 11/12 with Snapdragon 660/665 SoC. No way around it, even after a careful debloating.

Is that a showstopper? Don't think so. Some people don't stream, others download to listen offline. For me personally, it gets a bit frustrating when I'm using Amazon HD and scroll through my playlist where it pauses, not the sound but the list. The gui response time is not as fast and scrolling not as smooth. But that is expected since we are dealing with an older processor.

Otherwise, it is a solid choice that I have been featuring in all of my latest reviews as part of pair up and comparison. Just need to get to the full review.
I did until i read the SP3k review and enlightened myself vs N8ii, when pairing with Jewel / FT.

Can anyone advise what IEM's pair very well with the Sony sound signature and are not a difficult load and would work fine with a European version NW-WM1ZM2.
I like the look of the Oden's, Final A8000's and the Sony IER Z1R although unfortunately these aren't available in the UK anymore.
At the moment I am just doing my research.

Many thanks

Sony Z1R is the clear winner for me if it fits you. Other less expensive options include Sennheiser IE900 and IE600. Campfire Supermoon is outstanding, but it's a custom IEM only.

I think my Fiio FD7 Beryllium Dynamic sound great and the EU version drove them OK too. Picked mine up used but like new for only £220.

My SE846's and K10U also. Only my M9's would be a struggle I think.

Only you can know what you like though (and budget)

That is normal for Android.

I can enable Airplane Mode on my Smartphone and then manaully enable wifi and bluetooth.

The only thing you can't enable is GSM/4G/5G, so mobile reception.

If you are playing music using bluetooth, enabling airplane mode even won't disconnect it and leave it on. So Airplane mode basically only disables mobile reception forcefully. Everything else can still be used.
