Any problems with status alerts (e.g. the tone when paired) interfering with the audio playback?

I was using the Satechi, and my music tends to cut in and out whenever I pair it with the 1AM2.
Even with my official Sony remote you get an audible notification sound when it links, just the once though.

How are you finding the IER-M9 with WM2? I am keen to update my old XBA-H2, so won’t take much to improve on those! I think the M9 might be a good middle ground from mine to a Z1R.

At first I thought I'd made a mistake listening with initial tips I used, then fitted my go-to Spinfit CP100 S and beautiful. Small, super lightweight and therefore comfort levels perfect.

As many have said its on the warm side but bass, mid, treble all seem perfect and really resolving detail. Can see them becoming my main IEM.

Two things, really need to get the Tips/fit right or underwhelming, more so than any other IEM I've had, and most demanding IEM I've had needing higher volume setting than my others but still below 100/120 on low gain on uncapped WM1AM2.

Build quality, cables, materials spot on and reserved styling is my preferred choice.

My Sony isn't burn't in yet so expect even better, but they also sound fabulous with my lower end Hiby R5II.

No regrets especially for the £700 import price I paid for supposedly used, but look totally unused/new, just minor outer sleave/box rip 🙂

None at all other than the initial connect.

Thanks for the info psikey, its so hard to demo where I live so most purchases are a based from others experience which is risky with sound gear. But then I love all my gear so everyone can’t be too far off what I like! I will keep and eye out for a good second hand set locally.

I bought blind too off forum feedback as these aren't even sold in UK. I didn't risk the IER-1ZR due to many report fit issues (I have small ears), weak mids (I like my mids) not a bass head and also read issues with the cable from some. Plus heavy.

IER-Z1R having weak mids is largely overstated. it's there and it's not really behind bass/highs.
