VPT Studio is my standard setting
Am I a Philistine? but I actually quite like the sound on this with VPT (studio) turned on for a number of albums.
I'm sure this messes with the true sound but it does make some albums more fun. Anybody else like the VPT mode?
Hi everyone,
Just got the A35 and have been encountering problems with various SD cards. I have 3 of them: Samsung 128 GB, Sony 64 GB (which I got with my previous purchase of A17 some time ago) and Sandisk 200 GB.
128 GB works totally fine. Today, I've started loading all my music onto the new 200 GB card as 128 GB was not enough. I transferred about 50 GB at work and disconnected the player - it created the database and all worked fine. Problems started when I returned home and loaded the rest (have about 15 GB free left). I disconnected it again and when it started creating the database, the player shut down and started restarting half way and there's no stop to it. I've had the same thing with the Sony 64 GB card which I have tried a few times.
The card is perfectly seen by my laptop when I connect the player in mass storage mode.
All cards are formatted in exFAT. Player is on 1.02, but it was the same on 1.00. I use drag and drop on a Mac (10.12.1) to load the music.
Need help!
Thank you.
P.S. Other than that - the player is great and I love it. Really big improvement over A17, which I had before.
Haven't bought my A30 yet. Current planned for purchase for early next year.
But am really hoping Dignis would release a leather case for the A30. Their A10/A20 case really looks amazing. And the WM1A/Z case is already work in progress.![]()
On a side note, what other cases are you guys using with the A30 apart from the official cases?
Maybe try turning off the player, taking out the SD card, then turning the player back on to make sure it's working fine. Then, put the SD card in your computer, reformat it and load all your music on, then turn off your player and put the SD card back in. Let it turn on and build the database without it plugged into USB - it should work fine. It might be overkill to do this but that's how I loaded my music the first time.
I'm using a Samsung 256gb card with 170gb of ALAC on it and it never had any problems. Another tip is using the Microsoft SyncToy tool to set up a one-way sync between my computer music folder and the mounted SD card. When I plug my Walkman into my computer via USB I just run the SyncToy and all my updated files are transferred over.
I just got the Walkman NW-A36HN from Accessory Jack about 4 days ago. So far I love this little device, really pleased with the sound so far and I know it will sound even better once the capacitors get fully burned in.
I know many of you have discussed earlier about the build being plastic. Mine feels very cool to the touch, are we sure the housing of this thing is plastic???
