Z7M2 is really good so far (3 days), but I'm still getting used to listening to closed-back after a while of not owning one and burning them in.

How is noise isolation. If you walk outside do you hear cars and noise ?

Do you think it has 20db of noise isolation?

Yes to both - the Z7M2s are more akin to semi-open than closed TBH.

If the U12t/A12t is -20dB, I'd say the Z7M2 is about -10dB.

I’m still looking for a set of headphones that are designed to give a speaker like presentation. So far MDR Z1R from what I’ve read is designed this way, and I have that experience when I listen to the IER-Z1R but those are IEMs.

Does the Z7m2 have a similar presentation as above?
IF you want to start cheap, try MA900, they are a speaker-like as it get. Something only an open back with big open space behind your ear can do (K1000, Mysphere, RAAL Requisite, etc).
Man Sony really has the market for premium the easy to drive closed backs. I anticipate an open back release so badly
Yeah, Sony’s last open back IS the (also 70mm driver) MA900, and it’s been years since they discontinued it, it’s about time they put an open back into their signature series indeed,

Actually, my ears aren't getting sweaty, they're getting too warm. And I'd tolerate it, but after a relatively brief time, it's a distraction from that sweet sound. And no, I'm not moving when they heat up, I'm just sitting completely still. I realize I'm a little unusual, but the fact is, I'm particularly sensitive to this issue. But, you may be correct about the ear pads. The pair I had before this were the Shure SRH1840s, which had velour pads, and my ears were fine. But those were open-backed too. I have the Focal Clears on the way, and those have leather pads, but are open-backed as well. I was just hoping that they'd sound as least as good as the Z7M2s. Who knows, maybe I can even find some velour pads for them, but yes, my guess is that there aren't, as the material fo the pads are probably crucial to the sound signature of each headphone. That would seem to make sense to me.
I’ve put velour pads on my z7, they’re doing quite well~

I'm not sure that the material of the pads bothers as much as the closed nature of the headphones. I'm freakishly sensitive to them.
I've used mine for 4 days now, and so far, no sweat issues

Heat/sweat factor is moderate for me, not great but not too bad, as I can deal with needing to remove them every once in a while to cool off and its probably best for my hearing too. I did order lambskin pads, but I'm looking for instructions on how to replace them. I'm assuming you need to remove the screw on the inside of the cup but want to be sure. Does anyone know where to find steps for replacing the Z7M2 earpads?
