Didn't see any threads on these but wanted to get some more info if anyone has details to post.

No noise cancelling (would be almost perfect spec sheet if they did) but other specs look pretty good:
20hrs battery life
3-28khz when using in passive mode
aptX + NFC

Appear to be over ear and probably plastic (Z7 looks to be only metal construction of Sony's new lineup so far).

Anyone know what type of 40mm drivers they have (metal?)?

Also wonder if the bass boost dsp button works in passive mode?

Subbed! I love my xb500, and the next xb line disappointed me, especially the xb600. I really hope this one lives up to the quality of the older line.

Love my XB910 so much that I sold my XB500.

I'm interested in this one though. I don't particularly like bluetooth at all, and it's connection problems and instability, but it looks like you can plug a cable. Also, I didn't particularly care for the pads on the new XB line, but this looks like a winner to me:

on the sony page it said this guy got metal headband and the other part maybe the plastic.

That's good enough for this range of price.

I wonder if this is the same headphone, just non-BT version..? It doesn't seem to have that "electro" signal processing thingamajig though.

Just ordered them through Sony's website and should be getting them early next week. I'm new to Head-Fi but I hope to post some impressions as I have always been interested in wireless headphones.

Just got my pair a few days ago and wanted to give my initial impressions. These cans definitely emphasize the bass but still manage to maintain the rest of the spectrum balanced. Build quality is more than adequate for the price and it feels very similar the mdr-1r. Battery life has been really good and do believe they reach the claimed 20 hours of battery life. So far I have been really impressed with these headphones. I really hope that more people can get in on this thread because I really think that Sony doesn't get as much praise as some of the other brands. Their other upcoming headphones, the mdr-1a and the mdr-z7 look really promising. I plan to have a full review done in the next couple weeks.
