If you love bass then the XB500 will be just great. Also take a look at the Beyerdynamic DT770. Both are bass heavy.

XB500- powerful over the top bloated bass (pure bass power)
XB700- more refined sound with powerful but tighter more controlled bass (more refined bass)

well the i havn't had much experience with them so i cant really help you here...
i only have a little experience with the HD518, it is kind if bass heavy, but probably the XB700 has more subbass and power than the HD518, the HD518 is a little more neutral with better soundstage and treble
