Hey I own the V600s!!!

Well this was the first pair of headphones I purchased over 30 dollars so they seemed kinda good to me when I bought them. However I always found the treble to be exagerrated and they are quite fatiquing. Once I listened to the HD580s I realized how much better headphones there are out there. I am just now waiting for a used pair of HD600s to turn up on ebay so I can pounce on them.

So you really think the V600s have no bass?

Actually the low-end response of the MDR-V600's is uneven and muddy - too much upper-bass and lower-mids, barely any deep bass response.

Personally, IF I were shopping for Sony CD Series, Studio Monitor, or DJ Series headphones, I'd really only want to seriously consider those models with 50 millimeter drivers.

The following 2-page PDF document pretty well summarizes things.

As always though, people's tastes and expectations are different.

For the same reason, I'd be more than curious to A/B the Sony MDR-V6/MDR-7506 versus the MDR-7509, price delta notwithstanding.

The V600s are good in a 'big dump' sort of way. I feel good getting a big dump out of my body, and I feel good getting the V600s off of my body.

The 7509s look like another one of those "V-CRAP" headphones. They're loosely based on the MDR-V900, but they may or may not sound like those Vcrap900s.
