Hey all, 2 days ago, my cord got stuck on a door knob. Stupid, I know, I usually keep the cord tucked into my jacket, but I was right about to go into my apartment and it got caught on my hallway closet door knob.
 
There's now no sound coming out from them, but there's also no rip on the cord. The tip looks though as if something internally ripped. What would be my options of replacing or fixing the cord?
 
I have some experience with soldering so go as in depth as you must. I was either thinking of fully replacing the cord, or simply trying to repair it.

Maybe you should try replacing the cord. Fixing it is not safe for a long term use.
