Quarry? LOL  That´s a good aproximation.

Thanks, I didn´t know they come with a bag. Might be enough. Anyway, I was looking at the four sizes of the Koss Hard Cases but I can´t figure out which one it´s the good one:

-Koss Case A, Extra Large Case for the UR40, UR29, UR18, HQ1, SB45, QZPRO Stereophones
6.50" 5.10" 7.10" / 16.5 x 13.0 x 18.0mm

-Koss Case B, Large Case for the PortaPro, SportaPro, QZ2000, KTX8, KSC17, P14, P16, Pop Gloss Stereophones
5.60" 4.70" 6.70" / 14.2 x 11.9 x 17.0mm

-Koss Case C, Medium Case for the KSC75, KSC9, KSC7, KSC50, KSC17, P14, P16 Stereophones
3.50" 2.70" 6.20" / 8.9 x 6.9 x 15.7mm

-Koss Case D, Small Case for The Plug, SparkPlug, KSC22, KSC6, P15, P4, Budz Stereophones
4.20" 1.40" 6.20" / 10.7 x 3.6 x 15.7mm

Obviously it´s not one of the latter ones, but I wonder if it´s Case A or Case B... anyway, a little bigger is better than not being able to fit them. I might get one. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your answers!

The Koss cases are useless, even the extra large one is too small for the MDR-F1´s

Somebody in another forum, can´t remember his name, found these cases for small portable printers.

HP Photosmart Metro Style Carrying Case for Compact Photo Printers

Got the blue one on ebay for $15 shipped. They come in red, green and black too. It seems the black one is more expensive cause it´s rare nowadays.

The dimensions are: 9 inches height, 10 inches wide and 6 inches depth. Which suits the MDR-F1 nicely.

im probably too late to help but just in case, audiocubes sells replacement pads at a steep $75 usd after shipping, the pads are pretty unique but try looking up some older sony 905lp or 605lp which also used similarly designed rings. i dont know the driver size and measurements but you never know might work and be a worthwhile workaround than buying the expensive audiocubes 75 dollar pads if you can find these headphones intact for cheap

My brother gave these to me but the earpads were totally worn out. I put my extra pair of Ultrasone pads on them with double stick foam tape.
They're not perfect but they still sound incredible

I just bought a F1 used that needs some work.  Here's the service doc if anyone is interested.  For those who needs ear pads, the cloth pads for Sony MDR-MA900 (part# 429674101 at $18 each) works identical to the original F1 pads.

Question for you guys.  How do I remove Ref #5 in the service doc?

That's the cloth (driver is #13). You twist the back grid frame (#12) anti colockwise, can be difficult as there's som glue to fix it, but the bayonet lock will open with som persistance. Undo the screws, three I think, and the driver assembly will fall out on the pad side. Then it's only to pull the elastic fabric off the driver assembly.

Are there wires I should be concerned with?
