Hi guys.

Im Jack.

a while ago i bought some sony MDR ex71 iems on ebay. and liked them.. did'nt realy bother for more quality they where good enough for me.

a while later i bought a pair MDR ex50 cause it was an Ibood.. 2 pair for 20 euro.. and my father was buying cheapo earbuds caus he wanted to listen some music with his phone..
so i thought lets buy this double pair.. one for him and one for myself.

After having them burned in i was pretty amazed about the sound quality and the bass. i came to the conclusion that my old ex71's (wich i knew where really cheap when i bought them on ebay) where fake.

After reading a lot on the internet regarding iem's and also after reading the huge review with over200 iems compared on this forum. I was checking ebay for some nice Sony earbuds.

and i found these cheap mdr Ex85. for 14 usd with free shipping arround the world. and the seller claimed that it where original products. So i gave it a try.

Today i got them in and they looked cheap.. and are not as comfortable as my original mdr ex50 iems. I read some review online about the mdr ex85 which contained images.

and they looked a little different on some places.
I found this review on google: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/sony-mdr-ex85lp-stereo-headphones/

and my Jack looked like the MDR ex90 jack and not like the ex85 jack..

What do you guys think?

I have owned two pairs of these, just bought my 2nd pair last week. At a glance yours look fake. Upon closer inspection they look real fake. Sorry dude. If you paid less than $50 I guarantee they are fake. These are good headphones. The L and R is painted on the legit ones. The 'Sony' on the side is wrong font. They come in a leather case, not a soft cloth case. I am betting you bought them from China. Never do that; first rule of ebay.

When you listen to them the sound should have a full base, and no distortion.

From all the searching I did (and it was extensive), this guy is the only one I found on the internet I believed to be legit: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/220483597924?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.ca%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_nkw%3D220483597924%26_sacat%3D0%26_sop%3D12%26_odkw%3Dtest%26_osacat%3D0%26_trksid%3Dp3286.c0.m270.l1313%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#shId

Item number: 220483597924 if the above link is not working for whatever reason.

I am listening to music on them right now, and my soul is happy. I bought many different headphones and without going up to and above $120, these are the best I have found. The combination of comfort, fit and sound is wonderful for the price.

He has six pairs left and they don't make these any more. Good luck with whatever you decide.
