like the title says, which is better..i've already own the mdr 1k about a month ago..but because of my 'over cleverness/stupidity' i've ruined that iem..so i think i want to buy another one..the 1k was so great..instrument separation really good + great soundstage..especially drum instrument, its really sound lively.it feels like you sit in the middle and sorrounded by the band...althought it have some sibilance and harshness in high frequency but i can live with it with some equilization..overall the mdr 1k was really fun to listen to before i ruined it..so if anyone has any experience with the 1k and shure 535 special edition can please recommend me..thx..and sorry for my english

the se535 are very mid centric. the reds take care of the roll off of the regular 535 in the highs. the 535 has excellent instrument separation.

what did you do to ''ruin'' the 1k?
