Ditto. Was a European batch creak-free? Bought mine at Gatwick.

I might also point out that reviewers don't seem to notice any creaking from the headset. I've been using mine several hours a day since October.

I would agree that perhaps the Asian batch have this issue.  Can someone from the other areas confirm if they have it?

I also haven't read any reviewers on Amazon mention the "creak" issue, I searched last week.

For comparison, I have the Audio-Technica ATH-m50X that's mostly plastic, but it never creaks when worn.

  Can they play music via the USB cable like the Parrot Zik 3?

How I wish this too but nope, they cannot be operated while charging as per the manual: http://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/1000x/v1/en/contents/TP0001176125.html :)

I'm in Australia.

Oh, so Australian and European batches may not have the creaking issue.

Update: So after some back-reading and with feedback from the others, this creaking issue seems to be all over.

Issues per area:

* Asia == creaking, static
* Australia == creaking
* Europe == creaking

Hope the others will chime-in too. :)

@nsdjoe - While charging, you can use the headset wired passively using the headphone 3.5mm cable.  But that won't be the same as your Parrot Zik.

It's a clicking sound, right? Usually happens when you tilt your head?

It's not the driver, it's the sound of the plastic from the hinges and arms transmitting to the driver area. Gently tugging it a bit solves it for a while.

Yep it's when I tilt my head to the left, or sometimes just turn around, done a few long walks and it's reasonably constant just from left side though!

The same way for me, left side when I tilt my head or even when move my jaw slightly.

(gray) P/D on the box  (I guess it stands for Production-Deployment) 10 2016.

I bought mine on Amazon (UK) - Europe - so I am afraid it is not geographically related.

Sony continues to retain value worse than a used french car.
After my Z1R depreciating like a rock in a single month, the 1000X is now at 258 EUR. I guess this means that they're definitely going back to Amazon before the return window ends.

EDIT: The link is to a price comparison service for shops in Portugal and a few other EU countries. I took a really quick look at the list and don't know which of those shops ship internationally. Some will, but not all.

I bought mine Sony headphones on little price drop on Amazon 289GBP (only grey in that price), two days later QC35 were 260GBP for some time. Dixon's Travel shops are only the option for those who travel through UK or IRL (Dublin) airports, they are only available on major airports.
